There are many recipes for making playdough but this is the one I have used the most.
To make the dough more Spring like, I used only a small amount of colouring and handily it came out matching the pastel colours of my cutters!
You can make playdough any colour you like or just leave it plain and add things to it like glitter. Adding a scent like, ginger, cinnamon, lemon, lime, peppermint or vanilla are also great additions for a full on sensory experience.
You will need:
2 cups of plain flour
1/2 a cup of salt
2 tbsp cream of tartar
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1-1.5 cups of boiling water
Food colouring
To make:
Mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar and oil in a large bowl.
Add the food colouring to the boiling water and then add to the flour mix, a bit at a time.
Stir until it comes together as a sticky dough and allow to cool.
Knead the dough well for a couple of minutes until there is no more stickiness.
If the mixture is too wet, add a little more flour. If too dry add a little water.
Once made, keep the dough in an airtight container in a cool place and it will last for ages.
