Easy chocolate biscuits

These biscuits are really easy to make with children and are delicious! They would work well iced or sandwiched together with buttercream.

Ingredients

160g plain flour

2 tbsp cocoa powder

100g butter

50g caster sugar

2 tbsp milk

To make:

  • Heat the oven to 180C/Gas mark 4 and line a baking tray with parchment

  • Sift the flour and cocoa powder into a large bowl.

  • Cut the butter into chunks and add to the bowl.

  • Rub the flour and butter together with your fingers until it resembles breadcrumbs.

  • Stir in the sugar and then add the milk, mixing with a fork.

  • Once everything starts sticking together, squeeze it into a ball.

  • Wrap it in clingfilm and pop in the fridge for 20 mins.

  • Sprinkle a clean surface with flour and roll the dough out until about 1/2 cm thick.

  • Cut out your shapes and place on the baking tray.

  • Bake for 10-12 mins and the transfer them to a wire rack to cool.
