These biscuits are really easy to make with children and are delicious! They would work well iced or sandwiched together with buttercream.
Ingredients
160g plain flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
100g butter
50g caster sugar
2 tbsp milk
To make:
Heat the oven to 180C/Gas mark 4 and line a baking tray with parchment
Sift the flour and cocoa powder into a large bowl.
Cut the butter into chunks and add to the bowl.
Rub the flour and butter together with your fingers until it resembles breadcrumbs.
Stir in the sugar and then add the milk, mixing with a fork.
Once everything starts sticking together, squeeze it into a ball.
Wrap it in clingfilm and pop in the fridge for 20 mins.
Sprinkle a clean surface with flour and roll the dough out until about 1/2 cm thick.
Cut out your shapes and place on the baking tray.
Bake for 10-12 mins and the transfer them to a wire rack to cool.
